This is one of those units of study in which I did not exactly know what I was doing and why I was doing it but it turned out phenomenal in the end but also in the process it became a notch overly depressing due to a number of factors. All of which is very well outlined in the reflective report.
What I at times find problematic with my degree, is that the creativity is not exactly valued. I came up with an idea of a bringing gradshow into the virtual world, which could have radically improved the efficiency of what we decided to do. Let's say, lightning, physically constrained by how strong light it can throw and the angle, it all could be tested in Unity. The positioning of the projects, the food, additional stuff, dimensions, perfect prototyping tool that I threw in. One that could help in the process by involving a variety of stakeholders. Especially students were quite astonished by, as they could see how the GradShow would look like. Nevertheless, the enthusiasm was not shared among the team and my experience with curation during my previous works, was not taken under consideration, which lead towards my progressive withdrawal from the project and diverting my attention to other spheres of interest, such as involvement of other stakeholders and one special task - the fabrication of a miniature Quadrangle model.
Without any doubt, Vivid 2015 was a highlight of our degree, that was actually quite exclusive for our year, especially considering the quite high quality of everyone's works. I was tasked with Robert to fabricate the Quadrangle model and make sure the projections become well presented within the exhibition space. That took quite some work but the end result was worth it, despite the surrounding illumination did take a bit of the detail away, along with the projector which turned out to be a bit uncalibrated in the end, both of which unfortunately and eventually beyond my sphere of influence.
